Whether you’re looking to bring your spouse, significant other or packing up the family for a ski trip, Granlibakken’s partnership with Heavenly is a great deal. The stay and ski packages begin at $150 and include lodging, a lift ticket, access to onsite skiing and sledding hills, heated outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna, plus Granlibakken‘s famous hot breakfast buffet.

Rounding January and moving into February, the promise for new snow is looking good. Adding to earlier snow from December and Heavenly’s extensive snowmaking system that produces three-and-a-half feet of snow across one acre in an hour and and able to cover 73 percent of the resort’s trails, the season is anything but over.

Snow reports can be found online, while webcams provide real-time views every five minutes of the latest conditions.

By the numbers: Heavenly has a base elevation of 6,540 feet on the California side and 7,200 feet on the Nevada side with a summit elevation of 10,067 feet providing for a vertical rise of 3,500 feet.

There are 29 lifts that take skiers and boarders to 97 trails. Of the trails, 20% are considered beginner, 34% intermediate and 35% expert/advanced. Heavenly averages around 360 inches of snowfall in a season.

Skiers and snowboarders are thrilled with varied terrain that includes rolling glades, terrain parks and challenging technical steeps. Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, Heavenly offers something for everyone, including easy groomed runs, back-country-like terrain, tree runs and exciting terrain parks. You can see the full layout by going to the trail maps.

From beginning, intermediate to expert, Heavenly offers all-ages ski and snowboard instruction with a staff of trained coaches. You receive your instruction in a group or if you prefer, privately.

Whether you’re heading up to start your day of skiing and riding or going to Café Blue on the observation deck to grab a bite to eat, take a 2.4 mile ride in the Heavenly Ski Resort Gondola. At the observation deck you’ll see panoramic views of the lake and see the town from above the trees.

Heavenly Mountain’s newest 14,720-square-foot restaurant and lodge, Tamarack, at the top of the Gondola (that’s 9,150 feet) offers guests views of both the Nevada and California slopes of Heavenly in Lake Tahoe. Tamarack is home to Unbuckle Après Ski Party featuring DJs, food and drink specials, and the Heavenly Angels each Friday and Saturday from 3:30 pm to 5:30pm.

Hungry or thirsty? Heavenly offers plenty of on-mountain dining options, from morning breakfast and hot coffee warm-ups, to afternoon sandwiches, burgers, pizza and beers.
